Breathing for Wellness
One of the simplest forms of mindfulness is focusing on your breath. Here’s how to do it:
- Find a Quiet Space: Sit comfortably, either in a chair or on the floor.
- Close Your Eyes: Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze to minimize distractions.
- Inhale Deeply: Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your chest and belly to expand.
- Exhale Slowly: Release the breath through your mouth or nose, noticing the sensation of letting go.
- Focus on Your Breath: Continue this for a few minutes, concentrating on the rhythm of your breathing. If your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to your breath.
